At the beginning of August, our lynx coordination facility in the Wildcat Village Hütscheroda was completed. In the future, lynxes can be prepared for life in the wild by having minimal contact with humans in the approximately 3,400 m² enclosure in a natural environment. The enclosure can be divided into three compartments and can thus provide space for up to three sibling groups. From here, lynxes intended for release into the wild will go to the Thuringian Forest as well as to field projects throughout Central Europe. The first inhabitants of the coordination enclosure will be the siblings Frida and Junior, born in Hütscheroda in 2022.
